Tuesday, February 24, 2026
Suitable for Ages 5+
- Session I: Predators: Part of the Picture 10-11:30 am
Learn about carnivores, hunters, and predators, the adaptations animals have for catching prey and why predators help maintain the delicate balance of nature.
- Session II: Animals in Winter 1-2:30 pm
Observe cold weather adaptations of native plants and animals and compare cold weather strategies like hibernation and migration.

- Session I: Feathered Friends 10-11:30 am
Learn about the characteristics, habitats, adaptations and migrations of birds.
- Session II: Discover Nature 1-2:30 pm
Use your senses to observe the plants, animals, and habitats of Owl's Hill.

Suitable for Ages 5+
- Session I: Butterflies 10-11:30 am
Learn about the lifecycles of butterflies and take an hike to practice identifying butterflies and caterpillars.
- Session II: Wildflowers 1-2:30 pm
Find out why flowers are not just another pretty face in the forest. Learn how to identify wildflowers and the roles they play as food for wildlife.

General Information:
Cost is $15 per person (student or adult) per session. All-ages programs are designed for children ages 5+. Siblings 2 and under are free. Advance registration is required for all participants (students, adults and siblings 3 and over). All children must be accompanied by a registered adult.
No walk-ups.
Programs begin promptly at 10 am and 1:00 pm. Late arrivals may result in reduced programming.
Morning programs may be followed by lunch or a snack in our orchard picnic area at no additional charge. We are a carry-in/carry-out facility. Groups using the orchard picnic area must bring a trash bag to carry out your trash.
Helpful Checklist
- To protect wildlife, pets are not permitted at the Sanctuary.
- Dress for the weather. Wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes suitable for trail hiking.
- No strollers or wagons, please. Children must either walk or be carried.
- Bring a water bottle, bug spray, and sunscreen.
PAYMENT, REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY:
- REGISTRATION: Advance registration is required for all program attendees, both student and adults. No walk-ups.
- REFUND POLICY: There are no refunds for programs you cannot attend. You may transfer your registration to a family member or friend by contacting us in advance of the program date.
- CANCELLATION: Programs are rain or shine. We will, however, cancel a program if Williamson County is under a severe weather warning issued by the National Weather Service. Participants will be notified of cancellations by email. If a program is cancelled, you will receive a credit (valid for 30 days) toward Day Pass admissions to come explore on your own.
