Volunteer
With 300 acres to maintain, Owl’s Hill relies on the generous support of volunteers. Our devoted volunteers play an essential role in fulfilling our core mission work here at Owl's Hill Nature Sanctuary.

Call for Volunteers - Fall 2025
Owl's Hill is once again partnering with Metro Nashville Public Schools to provide STEAM Expeditions for 4th grade students. We need volunteers to help lead hikes and help with a nature journaling activity. Mandatory volunteer trainings will be held on August 27 and September 5. Field trip volunteers must have availability on one or more weekday mornings Tuesday - Friday.
Current volunteers: sign up for volunteer training through VolCentral.
New volunteers: Complete our volunteer application. You can sign up for the training when you submit your application. New volunteers must also attend an orientation session, held earlier in the day.
All field trip volunteers must complete a background check.
Volunteers serve in many capacities from visitor services and trained Trail Guides to gardening, trail maintenance and special event help. Regardless of whether you have an hour or many hours, whether you would like to volunteer weekly, monthly or once in a while, we will help you find the perfect opportunity that matches your schedule, talents and interests.
Reasons to volunteer at Owl's Hill:
- To spend some time in the great outdoors
- To share and inspire others with your love of nature
- To add to your knowledge base of Tennessee's natural history
- To have fun while making the world a better place
- To meet others with common interests
