Naturalist

Laura Smith joined the Owl's Hill staff in February of 2020! Her earliest outdoor adventures were in her home state of Indiana, exploring the sand dunes of Lake Michigan and later Hoosier National Forest while she earned her BA in Sociology with a minor in Human Development and Family Studies. After a career in food service and retail purchasing, she decided to pursue opportunities that would allow her to help others connect with wildlife and the outdoors. Laura worked with birds from around the world as an intern at Cincinnati Zoo, and later rehabilitated native wildlife at Walden's Puddle in Joelton, TN. Laura loves to share the natural world by encouraging people to go outside, get muddy, listen, and watch as the magic unfolds.
