$15 Adult ticket (ages 13+)

$12 Child ticket (12 and under)

Suitable for Ages 4+

Children 2 and under FREE.

No strollers or wagons. Children must either walk or be carried.

Gate opens 30 minutes before program start. Program begins promptly at noted time. No late entries.

Pack dinner and arrive early to picnic on the grounds. Please carry out your trash - we do not have trash cans available.

This evening program is designed to introduce young explorers to the wonders of the natural world after dark. Find out what makes owls such good hunters, why a firefly lights up, and how your vision changes in the dark. Meet our owl ambassadors, listen for night sounds, and keep an eye out for nocturnal creatures as we go on a kid-friendly hike through the meadow and orchard.

This program includes an easy hike over mostly flat ground with one short hill. Our trails are natural surface and hikers can expect a few spots with uneven terrain. Wear shoes suitable for hiking. Insect repellent is strongly recommended.

No flashlights, please!

If the hike you would like to attend is sold out, you may fill out our waitlist form.

Note: To protect the wildlife, we do not permit pets on the Sanctuary grounds.

REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY:

REFUND POLICY: There are no refunds for programs you cannot attend, however you may transfer your ticket to a friend, colleague or family member by calling us prior to the program date.
CANCELLATION: Programs are rain or shine. We will, however, cancel a program if Williamson County is under a severe weather warning issued by the National Weather Service. Participants will be notified of cancellations by email. If a program is cancelled, you will receive a credit toward Day Passes, valid for 30 days.

FOR EVERYONE's SAFETY:

Please do not attend if you are not feeling well or have recently been exposed to someone with a respiratory illness.
Our outdoor portable toilets each have hand sanitizers inside.

- One (1) mushroom cultivation kit
- Guided hike

Pre-registration is required.

Learn the basics of mushroom cultivation for edible oyster mushrooms, and a bit about the biology and ecology of fungus. Participants will learn how to get started growing mushrooms at home and will assemble an easy to care for oyster grow kit to take home. The program concludes with a short mushroom identification and appreciation hike.

This program is designed with adults and teens in mind. Suitable for ages 7 and up.

Note: To protect the wildlife, we do not permit pets on the Sanctuary grounds.

Young children, ages 3-5 years old, with an adult will explore the natural world through a series of topics lead by an Owl's Hill Environmental Educator. Each week has a different focus emphasizing working together through discovery, crafts, and outdoor exploration.

No strollers or unregistered siblings, please. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Fees are per adult/child pair.

REFUND POLICY: There are no refunds on programs. If you cannot attend, however, you may receive credit for your purchase amount toward a different program within 90 days.

FOR STUDENT, INSTRUCTOR AND STAFF SAFETY:

Please DON'T sign-up if you’re sick, do not feel well or were recently exposed to someone with COVID-19.
Please DO practice social distancing while on-site. Maintain at least six feet of separation between you and others.
Restrooms. The Visitor Center is currently closed to the public. Our outdoor portable toilets each have hand sanitizers inside and we've added an outside hand washing station.
Face Covering. All visitors (ages 12+) must bring and wear a face covering when unable to maintain social distancing around others outside their household.
Please bring extra water. We will not have a communal water cooler.

Join us as we explore Owl's Hill at sunset and enjoy the sights and sounds of day turning to night. We'll listen for owls, coyotes, and night-singing insects. As the stars come out, we'll look for constellations, planets, and even meteors.

Meet our non-releasable owl ambassadors and learn about the adaptations that help nocturnal animals survive. Find out what we can expect to see in the sky that night. After that, we'll head out on the trail to look and listen for the wonders of the night. No flashlights, please!

Family Geocaching Day

Come to Owl's Hill for a day of family fun and exploration! Geocaches are hidden in containers that can be found using a GPS or smartphone. Head out on our kid-friendly course set up with caches ready to be found. (We'll also have a couple more challenging caches for anyone looking for extra adventure.) Hike around in the woods and see what you can find. No experience necessary!

Bring your own GPS device or use your smartphone with Google Maps installed to find the caches. Participants are welcome to bring tradeables (small toys or trinkets) to leave or exchange in caches.

Check in between 10 am and 1 pm. Trails are open for geocaching until 4 pm. The gate closes promptly at 4 pm.

Planning to bring a picnic? You are welcome to use the picnic tables in our orchard. Please plan to carry out your trash.

To protect wildlife, we do not permit pets on the Sanctuary grounds.

Online ticket sales close at 8 am the day of the event. Walk up tickets can be purchased at check in.
