Hunting for salamanders.
For two decades, Owl's Hill has provided educational nature and environmental programs for students of all ages throughout the Middle Tennessee area During this time, we have hosted numerous home school students and look forward to increasing our services to this segment of the educational system.
For the 2009-2010 school year, Owl's Hill has designated certain days as Home School Days. The programs on these days are designed for mixed ages, and are not subject to our usual minimum group fee, giving families and small groups access to more programs. Morning programs may be followed by lunch or a snack in our orchard picnic area at no additional charge; however, since we do not have trash pick-up service, you must remove all your own trash. As with all of our school and scout programs, our insurance does not allow children under 4, including babies. Please arrange a babysitter for these younger family members.
In addition to Home School Days, we offer Special Events throughout the year which are suitable for families or groups. Again, there is no minimum fee; the charge is per/person. These programs are listed on the Family Programs and Mommy and Me pages of this website, in our Special Events Guide and in our Home School Program brochure. Many of these programs are open to all ages; some have age restrictions. Please check the listings carefully. Some of these upcoming programs are:
Summer Nights at the Hill; Aug.13 from 5:30-8:30
Mommy & Me: Happy Birthday, Mrs. Tittlemouse; Sept. 20 from 10-11:30
Larger groups of home school students are welcome to register for education programs not offered as a Home School Days as long as the group is the appropriate age for the program. There is a minimum fee of $75/group payable in advance. Programs offered as Home School Days may not be available.
