Songbird Seed
Owl's Hill offers a safe habitat for many songbirds.  Help to maintain these lovely creatures by purchasing seed for our feeders.   Birds are fed daily with sunflower and thistle seed, peanuts, mixed seed for ground feeding species and, in winter, various types of suet.  This not only helps to promote the health of our birds, but attracts them to areas where our visitors can view, study and enjoy them.

Bluebird Nest Box
Owl's Hill maintains several miles of cavity nesting trails - trails that feature bird boxes with the appropriate size openings and design to attract Eastern Bluebirds, Carolina Chickadees, Titmouse and Carolina Wren.  Some areas also have Wood Duck, Barn Owl and Screech Owl boxes.  Boxes are monitored weekly during the nesting season, and data is sent to the Cornell NestWatch program to be included in national and international databases.  Assist us in this important project.

Pond Protection
Owl's Hill has two ponds, a seasonal stream and a cistern, all providing habitat to native aquatic creatures.  In a world where clean water is becoming more and more valuble, our position at the low point in our local watershed gives us excellent opportunities to teach about this critical resource.  Help us continue aquatic habitat education and protection.
 
Trailblazer
Owl's Hill currently has over 10 miles of trails, used year round as an extension fo the classroom.  Varying from easy to strenous, all need continual upkeep to maintain safety.  Your gift helps to keep these trails open.

Owl and Hawk Support
Over the years, more than 80 birds of prey have been "hacked" - educated for return to the wild and released - at Owl's Hill.  Birds in a hacking box learn or relearn about the dangers of the wild and about how to catch and kill their food - food that we must purchase live.  Your support allows us to continue this important program.
