SUMMER CAMP 2020 - Registration Opens January 25, 2020

Summer Camp offers learning experiences that deepen the appreciation for the outdoors and encourage stewardship of the environment. The Nature Ranger Camp and Outdoor Explorer Camp offers a variety of outdoor activities including live animal presentations, creating crafts, building eco-structures, catching critters, and hiking ridges to beautiful views. Campers bond with like-minded campers and expand their nature knowledge.

Camp is limited in size so each child receives individual attention. Registration includes a camp shirt, water bottle and daily snack. Campers bring a lunch Monday-Thursday. All camps include Friday kosher hotdog lunch, ice cream desert and water games.

 

 

 

Nature Ranger Camp
Ages: 5 - 11
This mixed-aged camp is great for siblings that want to experience camp together. Campers will learn about native plants and animals through exploration, crafts and play. Each day has a different focus including the opportunity to explore the creek and the chance to interact with live animal visitors. Guest speakers provide the opportunity to learn from a variety of nature professionals and experts.

 

Nature Ranger I: June 1 - 5
Nature Ranger II: June 15 - 19
Nature Ranger III: July 13 - 17          
Nature Ranger IV: July 27 - 31

Time: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
Cost: $280/session ($260 before March 1)

Outdoor Explorer Camp
Ages: 5 - 11
Campers will become Outdoor Explorers as they learn about the natural world of Tennessee. Each day will inspire campers to learn about trees, plants, wildlife, watersheds and conservation issues. Through hands-on activities, guest speakers and daily hikes, campers will learn responsible environmental stewardship and how to make a difference. Some activities are divided age appropriately.
 

Outdoor Explorer I:  June 8 - 12
Outdoor Explorer II: July 6 - 10
Outdoor Explorer III: July 20 - 24
Outdoor Explorer IV: August 3 - 5 (Partial week)

Time: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
Cost: $280/session ($260 before March 1)

Animal Caretaker Camp
Ages: 12-16

Love animals? This is the camp designed for you. Campers will learn about the rewarding careers of working with animals. Campers will learn about animal related careers, including veterinary medicine, a visit with a wildlife officer, animal behavior training and animal welfare. Daily hands-on experience with educational animals.

Dates: June 22 - 26
Time: 9:00 am – 2:00 pm
Cost: $260/session ($250 before March 1) Camp is limited to 10 participants.

 

Camp FAQs

Registration
Complete registration and payment online. Camps are filled on a first come, first paid basis by date of payment. If you are interested in a camp that is “full,” you can opt to be placed on a waiting list during registration. Camp registration is not complete until the health profile and general information are complete and payment is received.

Extended Care
Extended Care is available for full-day campers and offered Monday - Friday 8 - 9am and/or 3 - 5pm. Registration is required.
Cost is $45 per session/camper (A.M or P.M.) or $80 per session/camper for combined extended care (A.M. + P.M.) No refunds.

Cancellations & Changes

  • Cancellations and session changes may be made free of charge up to March 31, 2020.
  • From April 1 - May 15, 2020 there is a 25% fee for cancellations and changes.
  • No refunds after May 16, 2020. No exceptions.

What to wear and bring:

  • Clothes that can get wet, muddy, dirty and worn in all kinds of weather.
  • Pack a bathing suit on Fridays for Sprinkler Fun.
  • Closed-Toe Shoes like sneakers or hiking boots.
  • No flip flops or sandals.
  • Backpack with extra clothes, water bottle, and lunch. Campers can use their backpack during hikes. We provide morning snack.
  • Insect repellent and sunscreen. Apply everyday BEFORE camp.
  • Labeled Medications with instructions.

Inclement weather: Camps are rain or shine. In case of inclement weather, activities may be modified and moved indoors.
