Eastern Screech Owl
The Eastern Screech Owl
Otus asio | Length:8" Wingspan:22"

The Eastern Screech Owl is one of the smallest and most common owls in the state of Tennessee. It can be found in residential and wooded areas nesting in tree cavities. These owls like to eat night-flying insects and small rodents. If you hear a soft mournful descending whinney in the woods, it may be the call of The Eastern Screech Owl.
