Important COVID-19 Updates

How Owl’s Hill Nature Sanctuary is Responding to COVID-19

(Updated 3/25/2020)

We know Owl's Hill Nature Sanctuary is a respite and place of serenity for many. The health and well-being of everyone at Owl’s Hill, and providing a safe environment for our visitors, is our top priority.

At this time, our trails remain open as we monitor the impact of the coronavirus in our community, but our visitor center is closed, and all other programs and events are postponed through at least April 24.

We will continue to watch for updates and guidance from the Williamson County Health Department and Tennessee Department of Health regarding local and state public events. We will monitor local school district closings to guide decision-making with regard to our education programs.

Updates will be posted to this webpage and our Facebook page. Additional details regarding the status of specific programs follows.

Trail Hiking
Our trails are currently open Wednesday - Saturday to offer people a safe recreation option. A limited number of Day Passes are available by on-line purchase only for same-day hiking. To protect wildlife and their fragile habitats, pets are not permitted in the Sanctuary, even on a leash. Day Pass visitors are expected to follow the CDC social distancing protocol and to stay home if sick or someone in their household is sick. No large groups or meet-up groups, please.

Education Programs
School programs and Home School programs, both onsite and via our Nature Comes Calling outreach program, have been canceled through at least April 24. We hope and are actively working to reschedule these programs with those affected. We will monitor local school district closings and adjust our date, if necessary, accordingly. Please contact us at info@owlshill.org with any field trip questions.

Public Programs
Wildflower Hikes scheduled through April 24 have been canceled. We are happy to provide registrants with credit toward a future program or a refund.

Tennessee Naturalist Program
April's Feathered Fauna classes are canceled. We are working with the instructors to reschedule. Please watch your email for updates.

Summer Camps
Summer Camp registration is currently open. You can register for summer camps at app.campdoc.com/register/owls. If it becomes necessary to cancel camp, we will issue a full refund. Click here to read a statement from CampDoc regarding their insurance protection policies.

Dinner in the Forest
We’ve added lightning bugs to the line-up! Dinner in the Forest has been rescheduled for August 9.

Volunteer Programs
Community Service Days, Eagle Scout Projects and Trail Guide Trainings through April 24 have been canceled.  Please direct any questions regarding volunteering to volunteer@owlshill.org.

How You Can Help
If you are able, please consider making a gift to help ensure Owl's Hill can recover from this unprecedented crisis. Your gift will allow us to pick up with programming and other activities that mean so much to our visitors and volunteers.

REMINDER
Do your part to help flatten the curve of COVID-19, if you feel ill or someone in your household is ill, please stay home and consult your health care provider.
